Day 1. Board your overnight transatlantic flights (connecting service to Venice). Meals and beverages served.
Day 2. Arrive Venice. Meet your escort and transfer to your hotel located in the historical heart of Venice. You will reach the main island by private motor launch. Balance of day at leisure to acclimate yourself with this fascinating city. Venice has a preoccupation with its own beauty. Books and pictures will not prepare you for the city’s exotic landmarks rising from the lagoons. This evening, enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant including wine and mineral water. (D)
Day 3. Venice. A local guide will elaborate about the wonders of Venice on a morning city tour. Included is entrance to the Doges' Palace. The city of Venice, known as “The Queen of the Adriatic”, is simply stunning and completely unique. Founded more than 1,500 years ago on 117 different islands, Venice is linked by a series of over 150 canals, 400 bridges and many ancient pavements. Balance of day for individual exploration. (B)
Day 4. Venice – Florence: Departing Venice by private motor launch for the mainland, today travel to Florence, one of the most beautiful and ancient cities in Italy and the world. Florence, home to the Renaissance, gave birth to many of the men who have profoundly influenced the course of human history in every field of knowledge, art, literature and philosophy. Upon arriving in Florence, enjoy a guided walking tour. Enjoy the city’s beauty as you walk along its historic streets and admire the breathtaking architecture up close. During your tour, admission is included to Galleria dell’Accademia to view Michelangelo’s statue of David. This evening enjoy a welcome to Florence dinner. (B, D)
Day 5. Pisa. This morning visit Pisa home to the world famous Leaning Tower. Situated within the Campo dei Miracoli is the Leaning Tower, Cathedral, and Duomo, richly decorated with carving by the Pisano family. It was the Pisano family that began construction of the tower in 1174. Return to Florence with time to wander about this fascinating city. (B)
Day 6. Florence – Siena – Rome. Depart Florence for Siena, Italy’s most enchanting medieval city. Once the rival of Florence, the city has remained practically unchanged from medieval times. With most of her historical sites concentrated in a small area it is a destination easy to discover. After a guided orientation tour of Siena, including admission into its main Cathedral, continue South to Rome, and your hotel. Dinner included this evening at a local restaurant. (B, D)
Day 7. Today Discover Rome! Experience the sensuality that is Rome. Throughout the ages, this ancient city has been an inspiration to many. It remains the Eternal City, ancient capital of the Western World, center of Christianity for some 2,000 years. You will journey through history as you visit many of the city's highlights, including admission to the Coliseum and Vatican Museums to see the Sistine Chapel. (B)
Day 8. – Rome. At leisure to explore on your own. (B)
Day 9. – Depart Rome. Transfer to the airport in Rome for your return non-stop flight to the USA, arriving at Newark Liberty International Airport this same afternoon. (B)
